Mrs. Martin-Instructional Aide

Hi there my name is Roxanna Martin, I started as a substitute in Life Skills last year and I will forever cherish the experience.

I used to do a lot of volunteering work around the Houston area, helping, raising money and awareness toward challenged youth. The reason that I wanted to become more involved in the educational community is thanks to my two beautiful children, Luis (19) and Emma (13). My amazing daughter Emma is about to begin her last year at Woodcreek Junior High, while alternatively, my clever son is just about to embark on his journey at Texas A&M.

I am humbled by the opportunity to serve another year as a paraprofessional at the AST Department at FPSE.

Mrs. Pullin-Dyslexia

My name is Janel Pullin, and I cannot wait to begin the 2023 – 2024 school year at Shafer Elementary!!!

I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in journalism/public relations. After working in the visual merchandising industry for a few years, I decided that education was my calling. During my years as an educator, I have been a classroom teacher for kindergarten through fourth grade, an elementary gifted and talented teacher, an instructional coach, and a reading intervention teacher. I am currently one of two dyslexia intervention teachers at Shafer.  In my classroom, my forever goal has been for my students to believe in their potential, feel loved, feel safe, and to value others.

My husband and I moved to the Katy area twelve years ago. In my free time, I love to spend time with my wonderful family, and dear friends. I also enjoy reading, shopping in Gruene and Round Top, spending time at the beach, supporting our hometown San Antonio Spurs, and cheering on the Baylor Bears!

I am looking forward to an AMAZING school year with you and your wonderful child!!!
