Final Exam Schedule
Do all students follow the final exam schedule? YES
Who takes traditional comprehensive final exams that count 14.2% of the final semester average? Only 8th graders and all high school credit courses.
What do 6th & 7th graders do during the final exam class periods? In most cases 6th/7th grade students will take their final exam of the semester. This will be the students second major grade of the grading period, and will only cover material taught in the current unit.
Are students given an opportunity to re-take exams taken during final exam week if they earn a failing grade? NO. Unfortunately due to the timing of these exams and the limited amount of time to be graded, exam re-takes are not offered. This is a district policy.
If students will be absent and miss an exam when do they make it up? Students cannot take exams before Tuesday, December 13. Exams can be made up between December 13 and December 16 by arranging an alternate time with your child's teacher. For students who miss the entire week, our final opportunity to make up exams is on Monday, January 3rd. Please contact your child's teacher of record if you will needed to reschedule a make up exam.

Katy ISD secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library, though as of November 7, parental consent is required prior to a student being able to do so. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an ELA classroom library book.
Katy ISD parents may access the KISD Option Portal to provide consent for their student to check out classroom library books by selecting the MyKaty icon on the District’s webpage, enter their parent ID and password, and then select the "KISD Option Portal" tile.
