          • Semester Exam Schedule

            Dear Colt Parents/Guardians,

Semester Exams will begin on Tuesday, December 13th.  A copy of the exam week schedule is linked below.  Also, teachers have the schedule posted in their classrooms, so students have the opportunity to record the schedule in their planners.  Please avoid scheduling any appointments that would cause a student to miss a Semester Exam.  If there will be an unavoidable, planned absence, please notify the attendance office as soon as possible.  Semester Exams will not be given early.  If a student misses a Semester Exam due to an absence, he/she will have until Wednesday, January 22nd to make-up the missed exam.  The student should talk to the teacher to make arrangements to make-up the exam.  Please encourage your student to make adequate preparations for Semester Exams.  Thank you.

          • Secondary ELA Classroom Libraries

English Language Arts (ELA) Classroom libraries allow students immediate access to independent reading material, which supports the English Language Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Katy ISD secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library, though as of November 7, parental consent is required prior to a student being able to do so. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an ELA classroom library book.

Katy ISD parents may access the KISD Option Portal to provide consent for their student to check out classroom library books by selecting the MyKaty icon on the District’s webpage, enter their parent ID and password, and then select the "KISD Option Portal" tile.  Below are screenshots of the MyKaty icon and KISD Option Portal.  Parents needing assistance in accessing their ID and password may manage their account here.  Parents who require additional assistance with accessing the application can view an instructional video here.
