    ​Proclamation 2024 includes instructional materials for the following content areas:

    • K-12 Science
    • Career and Technical Education
    • Technology Applications
    • Personal Financial Literacy and Economics
    • AP Language and Literature

    Instructional Materials & Technology Allotment (IMTA)

    The Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMTA) can be used to purchase instructional materials; technological equipment; certain related software, systems, and services; and salaries for specific technical support employees, as described in Texas Education Code (TEC), Chapter 31 Instructional Materials and Texas Administrative Code §66.1307.

    The Katy ISD curriculum does not rely solely on textbooks, but includes the use of a number of resources in the classroom, including online resources, literature libraries, technology, printed materials and many other hands-on learning tools.

    ​Establish Instructional Materials Committees

    November-December

    Committees review instructional materials and select the top 3–4 selections

    January-February

    ​Establish Instructional Materials Committee for New Courses Obtain teacher/community feedback

    March

    Review committees make recommendations to the District Instructional Materials Allotment Team

    April

    Recommendations presented for Board approval

     

    Review Proposed Instructional Materials

    Parents and community members will have the opportunity to review proposed instructional materials and provide feedback. Proposed instructional materials for the Katy ISD courses will be on display during business hours (8:00 AM-4:00 PM) for parent and community input at the Education Support Complex until March 1 with evening opportunities on February 27 and February 29 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
