Summer Enrichment (HB1416)
Katy ISD students may participate in one or more of the following Summer Enrichment Programs provided they meet eligibility requirements.
* KSAT HB1416 Accelerated Instruction is offered to 5th & 8th grade students who did not meet STAAR expectations for the 2024-2025 school year. Enrolling in KSAT Summer Enrichment provides students with the opportunity to earn instructional hours required by the state. Students who do not attend will earn the required hours during the upcoming school year.

Programs - 5th grade Math/Reading or
8th grade Math/Reading
Application - Programs are by invitation only
Meals - Provided at no charge for students in this program
Technology - Students will be required to use their issued Class 1:1 devices through the duration of this program
Transportation - Students report to the (PAC) Performing Arts Center at the high school campus in their feeder zone for transportation to the summer enrichment campus
Times:
- 5th grade: 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
- 8th grade: 7:45 am - 3:15 pm
Dates - (Katy ISD campuses are closed on Fridays during the summer)
- 5th grade: June 16 - 26th
- Students who qualify for Reading only will receive 4 days of Reading accelerated learning
- Students who qualify for Math only will receive 4 days of Math accelerated learning
- Students who qualify for Math and Reading will receive 4 full days of Math accelerated learning followed by 4 full days of Reading accelerated learning (or vice versa)
- 8th grade: June 16 - 26th
- Students who qualify for Reading only will receive 4 days of Reading accelerated learning
- Students who qualify for Math only will receive 4 days of Math accelerated learning
- Students who qualify for Math and Reading will receive 4 full days of Math accelerated learning followed by 4 full days of Reading accelerated learning (or vice versa)
*NOTE* 8th grade students who fail 2 or more classes during the school year will have the opportunity to sign up for course recovery in Edgenuity through KSAT. Additionally, students who are not successful on the Math or Reading (or both) STAAR test, will be invited to participate in Summer Enrichment (HB1416 Math or Reading, or both).

EOC Testing
Eligibility Requirements: Students who did not pass one or more of the scheduled assessments during the 24 - 25 school year are eligible to re-test during our summer EOC Testing window. Students are NOT required to test in the summer, but it is highly encouraged.
Summer EOC Testing Dates:
- English I and U.S. History
- Algebra I
- English II and Biology
Where: Testing will take place at each high school campus except CRHS (CRHS students will test at CRJH). Details will be shared by the Campus Testing Coordinator upon registration, such as testing times and other important information.
Transportation: No transportation will be provided for students taking the summer EOC Test Administration.
Registration: Each campus will provide an online registration form for students to register for the test(s) they are eligible to re-take.
