Programs

  • PurposeFull People – PurposeFull People is Character Strong’s Pre-K-5 Toolkit. It is intentionally designed to support any work we are already doing around Character Education and Social-Emotional Learning - and is a robust option on its own.

Designed by veteran teachers, school counselors, play therapists, and many other incredible voices, PurposeFull People is packed with tons of practical and easy-to-use tools that focus on developing character and social-emotional skills in students, staff, and families.

The content taught will focus on 10 traits (Courage, Respect, Perseverance, Gratitude, Honesty, Kindness, Empathy, Responsibility, Cooperation, Creativity). With each trait, there will be a classroom and home component, so we can be sure we are continuing to intentionally build great characters at school as well as at home.

Wolfe counselor is available to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth through:

    • Individual Counseling: Students may request to see the counselor as needed. To contact the counselor, students fill out a counselor's request slip (located outside the counselor's office and in teachers' classrooms) and place it in the tub outside the counselor's office. Teachers and parents can also request individual counseling for a student.
    • Small-Group Counseling: Students may be referred to small group counseling by a teacher or parent. Small groups are offered at various times throughout the school year focusing on various topics, such as friendship and social skills, anger management, test anxiety, assertiveness, divorce, and grief.
    • Classroom Guidance Lessons: The counselor visits each grade level throughout the year to provide classroom guidance lessons. This provides an opportunity for students to acquire academic, social, and emotional/personal skills while working with their peers. Topics may focus upon the monthly character trait, anti-bullying, friendship, organization, tolerance, self-discipline, and honesty.
    • Consultation: The counselor often collaborates with parents, teachers, and administrators to provide solution-focused interventions and guidance to promote academic success.

    Wolfe Kindness Crew
The Kindness Crew consists of students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade.  Students meet once a month with the counselors, and complete a project promoting kindness, as well as school and bringing the community together.

Classroom Counselor Visits- (based on each grade-level's needs) Whole-class counseling lessons  are provided throughout the year focusing on content such as: self-esteem, motivation to achieve, decision-making, goal setting, problem-solving/communication skills, interpersonal/cross-cultural-effectiveness, responsible behavior, etc.
