Meet the Counselor

  • Hello Wolfe Stars!

My name is Kyliesha Marie August, and I work at Maurice L. Wolfe Elementary as a school counselor. Being a member of the Wolfe family excites me. Houston, Texas, is where I was born and reared. I had the honor of working for Fort Bend ISD for ten years as an educator. Five of those years were spent as a restorative practice coach. At Fortbend ISD, I had the honor of winning teacher of the year for the last two years!

I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (EC-6) and Houston Baptist University with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I am a veteran of the US Navy. I obtained my certification as an EC-12 school counselor after serving in the military. I'm presently pursuing a master's degree in counseling and development with a specialization in family, marriage, and couple counseling at Lamar University. My two small kids, Khloe 10, and Kaylee 5, are people I adore and admire. Aside from my coursework, work, and motherhood, I enjoy traveling, vacationing, and indulging in delectable cuisine.

In addition to serving in my second year with Katy ISD, I'm immensely grateful for the chance to serve as the school counselor. Getting to know all of our students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members has brought me great joy. Supporting each child's academic and social/emotional development is also my primary responsibility in order to ensure their success in the classroom and in the community. I'll help students one-on-one, in small groups, and in guidance classes in the classroom. I'm excited about an amazing academic year!

    Thank you,

    Kyliesha August
