Orchestra

Requirements: Play an instrument—violin, viola, cello or bass
Enrollment: They can join at the start of the school year by contacting the school counselor.
Additional Info: Rent an instrument and $50 annual orchestra activity fee.

Titans-N-Theater (TNT)
Grade: 6, 7, 8
Requirements: Any student in a Theatre class can be a part of TNT.
Enrollment: TNT is the name of our after school productions. Students join when they audition and are casted into a play
Additional Info: Show fee if students are cast in the show. Rehearsal schedules are given at the time of auditions.

Cheerleading
Grade: 7, 8
Requirements: Students will be required to attend weekly practices as well as various activities throughout the year.
Enrollment: Students must be enrolled in Pep Squad in 6th grade to try out in the Spring.
Additional Info: . If the 7th or 8th grader makes the squad, he/she will be expected to attend: summer practices and cheerleading camp; scheduled school practices and events. A Katy ISD cheerleading fee will be required.

Pep Squad

Requirements: Students must fill out an application
Enrollment: Fall Semester
Additional Info: Semester Information packet and important dates are available in Ms Anderson's room 1173. Students interested in trying out for cheerleader in the spring must complete Pep Squad requirements in order to try out.

NJHS
Grade Levels: 8
Requirements: Good behavior and a 3.75
GPA7th graders get invited at the end of their 7th grade year (induction is in April), 8th graders will be invited again (or new students for the first time) in the Spring semester.
Students are required to complete service hours. Two of the service hours must be school hours, (Back to school events, award ceremonies, service project) Students are also expected to maintain GPA requirements. Their grades will be checked periodically. NJHS Membership dues $20.

Math Club
Grade: 6, 7, 8
Requirements: TMSCA is an advanced math competition-based club. There is an entrance exam at the very beginning of September and meetings are every week to practice.
Enrollment: . Students have to take the entrance exam in early September. Membership is not rolling.
Additional Info: The primary purpose for the club is to bring together students who wish to prepare for participation in the TMSCA competitions. Preparation is primarily parent-led. $100 to join for preparation materials, a t-shirt, and for each competition that they want to participate in.

Art UIL Team
Grades: 6-8 *Enrolled in Art
Requirements: *SPRING SEMESTER ONLY* Based off of work ethic, behavior, productivity, and success in the art classroom, art teachers will select a small group of students to participate in Jr. VASE Prep. Students will attend 1-2 group meetings per week to receive exclusive advanced art lessons from Mr. Reyes & Ms. Mills to help prepare for Jr. VASE in April. Group fees will be $10 to support art supply & material costs.
Enrollment: . *Students will be hand selected by Mr. Reyes (7-8) and Ms. Mills (6).

Meeting times will be before and after school announced by teacher. Jr. VASE Group, artists will get a chance to build upon their skills and nurture their knowledge in the world of visual arts as students prepare for Jr. VASE in April

Destination Imagination
Grade: 6, 7, 8
Requirements: Destination Imagination is a creative problem-solving competition. A parent manager works with students in teams of 5-7 outside of school hours. Each team must have at least one parent who can manage the team and help in preparing for the competition. Students are expected to work towards a solution to their challenge without interference from parents, teachers, or anyone not on the team.
Enrollment: An interest meeting is held in September. The enrollment information is provided at that time. Teams must be formed by the beginning of October.
Additional Information: Katy ISD will pay all registration fees for the regional tournament. Teams are responsible for the purchase of materials that are required to complete their chosen challenge; there are budgetary limits imposed by DI. All teams who register are expected to participate in the regional competition. Katy ISD will also provide financial support for teams who qualify for the state tournament. If teams are eligible for the Global Finals, they will have to provide their own funding to attend that competition.
