Destination Imagination
About Destination Imagination
We inspire young people to imagine and innovate today so they become the creative and collaborative leaders of tomorrow.
In Destination Imagination (DI), students work together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges designed to teach the creative process.
The creative process is a step-by-step approach that helps students better understand problems and ask better questions, come up with solutions, learn from failure, and celebrate their achievements.
In going through this process, kids learn vital life and career skills—creative thinking, critical thinking, public speaking, and collaborative problem-solving—that help them feel empowered and set them up for success in the future.

Read, Deed Run
What is Read, Deed, and Run?
- RDR is an all-encompassing program for the WHOLE child.
- Students in grades 3, 4 & 5 commit to a 26-week program in which they will read 26 books (or 2600 pages), perform 26 good deeds in the community, and run a total of 26.2 miles.
- Students run their final 1.2 miles in a "race" to earn their finisher's t-shirt and medal.

Safety Patrol
-
Safety Patrol members are school-sponsored student volunteers from 5th grade. Patrollers aid in the arrival and dismissal of students in the car-rider line. As school-age leaders, patrol members teach other students about safety on a peer-to-peer basis. They also serve as models for younger children, who look up to them. School Safety Patrol members:
- Complete training with prior safety patrol members and adults.
- Protect students from hazards on their way to and from school.
- Teach fellow students about safety.
- Serve in other leadership roles under the direction of school officials.
Safety Patrol Sponsors appoint patrol members, who participate with parental approval. Safety Patrol members serve for a 9-week period in either the AM or the PM.
Interested students who did not sign up at the end of 4th grade must contact Ms. Gonzales for an application.
Please Contact the Safety Patrol Coordinator for more information or to ask questions.
