• James E. Williams opened its doors in August 2000.  The school was named in honor of Dr. James Williams, who served on the Katy Board of Trustees for nearly three decades.

Since the day it opened, Williams has displayed the elegance of an established school with mature trees sheltering the play area. Inside, the school’s western flair is fitting for a school situated on land belonging to the historic Cinco Ranch.

    FACILITIES AND RESOURCES

Williams was built to house approximately 1,030 students. The building has 103,875 square feet with 57 classrooms, a library media center, a large gym, an outdoor playground, two music classrooms, two art rooms, and two 26-station computer labs. A technology center in every classroom includes multiple Chromebooks or iPads, a document camera, and a smart panel.

    PROGRAMS AND ENRICHMENT

We believe that our teachers, parents, and students work together to enjoy great academic accomplishments. Students stay actively involved as they leave their own brand through many programs. The PTA and school staff work hand-in-hand to offer engaging activities such as the LASSO enrichment program, Reflections, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Exhibit, Junior Achievement, Destination Imagination, reading and math parent volunteer programs, Eureka Science Program, W.I.S.E. Aerospace afterschool program, Wrangler Chorale, Western Thunder, Safety Patrol, House Council, and Read, Deed, Run.
