Dual Credit Page
Katy ISD partners with Houston Community College in offering dual credit courses for students who meet specific requirements and would like to earn college credit at the same time as earning high school credit. Once accepted as a dual credit student, students can enroll in face-to-face courses or virtual classes. If interested, please contact your child's counselor with any questions. Please be aware that becoming a dual credit student is a multi-step process and requires 1–2 weeks to complete. Enrollment for the following school year begins in February and ends in March.

- You need to take the TSI-A exam for college readiness
The TSI-A exam is no longer a requirement to apply for dual credit courses for the 2025-2026 school year. However, it is a good indicator of potential academic success in a dual credit course. Depending on the student and how many dual credit courses you plan to take, you may still need to take the TSI-A exam. Ms. Atilano, the College and Career Facilitator, will be available during the course selection meetings to discuss your eligibility and if you need to take the TSI-A exam. If you are not able to meet with Ms. Atilano during your course selection meeting, you can scan her QR code outside the counseling office or email her at enidlatilano@katyisd.org.
