    Course selection is due in Schoolinks by February 12, 2025.

    Students MUST complete Course Planner in SchooLinks.  SchooLinks can be found in MyKatyCloud.

    The Course Planner in Schoolinks is now open for students to review and add courses for the next school year. You can log in to Schoolinks to edit your course planner. Be sure to choose courses that align with your program of study and confirm that you've completed the prerequisite requirements for the courses you select. We encourage students to plan ahead and not wait until the last minute to choose their courses.

    • Review the Course Catalog: Familiarize yourself with the available courses and graduation requirements.
    • Check Your Academic Progress: Review the courses you’ve already completed.
    • Explore Endorsements and Programs of Study: Learn about the endorsements and programs that align with your interests and goals. 
    • Counselors will meet with students to review course selections. 
    • Parents and students will submit any change requests through the FHS course change Google form, which will be sent by the English teacher after their course selection meeting with their counselor. Changes will not be accepted via email or Schoolinks messaging.  
      • Final course selection changes will be open via Google form from 03/03 to 03/05.

    Schedule changes:

    Schedule changes for the 2025-2026 school year will be allowed only in the following cases:

    1. Student has not met course prerequisites;

    2. Student has already earned credit for the course;

    3. Change in program (athletics, fine arts, etc.), with coach/director approval;

    4. Level changes as recommended by the teacher and counselor, with parent and grade level administrator approval within established deadlines; (AP Human→Aca World Geo)

    5. Student did not meet standard on STAAR/EOC exam.

    *Please make selections carefully.*

    NO elective changes will be honored after course approval closes.

    Algebra 2 Notification

    The information below is provided annually through school eNews, and is important to note when planning your child's education. Graduation requirements for the Foundation High School Program + Endorsement (FHSPE) include four math credits, which must include Algebra I and Geometry credits, and two additional math credits. Algebra II is not specified as a graduation requirement; however, students who do not earn Algebra II credit are not eligible for: 

    • Earning the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA), which requires completion of an endorsement with Algebra II among the four math credits, 
    • Recognition as an honors or high honors graduate, 
    • Automatic admission to a state public college or university, and 
    • Certain financial aid opportunities, including the TEXAS grant or the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant.

     

    Miller Career Technology Center Course Request: 

    The link to request a Miller course will open on January 27th at 7:00 am and close on February 28th at 11:59 pm. 

    Miller Career & Technology Center serves as a central site for Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses that are not offered at the student's home campus. The innovative courses are available to juniors and seniors in Katy ISD and provide them with the opportunity to explore and gain exposure to potential post-secondary options or career experiences.

    • MCTC Preview Nights:
      • High School Preview Night-January 27th, 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm. 
      • Junior High School Preview Night-February 24th, 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm. 
    • High School Students Are Responsible for Submitting an MCTC Course Request and MCTC Application. A Link and Instructions Can Be Found on the MCTC Website.
    • Counselors Will Talk to Students Individually About Miller, and Alternate Courses If Wait-listed for the Requested MCTC Program.
    • If a Student No Longer Wishes to Attend Miller Career Center Next School Year, Please Email Your Counselor.
